What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of resistance control exercise that works
with the body's organic form of biomechanics and support. It originated
from yoga, martial arts and Greco Roman calisthenics. Pilates trains the
musculature of the entire body in a balanced organic form. Most exercise
programs work only targeted areas of the body or excessively train some
muscle groups at the expense of others. With Pilates your entire musculature
is evenly conditioned, from top to bottom, inside and out, so as to avoid
injuries as well as meet conditioning and lifestyle goals. The end result
is a long lean, deeply strong graceful and aware body.
