About Khita Whyatt
Khita Whyatt has been in the Pilates community since
1984 where she has worked with ballet dancers, Olympic athletes, even
symphony conductors.
For
nearly two decades Khita has worked and collaborated with physicians,
physical therapist, alternative health care practitioners, Pilates practitioners,
dancers and athletes giving her a wealth of information and wisdom to
her students and clients. Modifying and modernizing the original Pilates
exercise techniques to enhance their benefits.
Bringing all she has learned through her work with
physical therapists and alternative health care practitioner, Khita has
developed her own rehabilitative "micro-movements" developed
especially for those suffering with acute and chronic injuries.
Many of Khita's clients are referred by local physicians,
physical therapist as well as alternative health care practitioners. She
has worked in collaborations with St. Francis Hospital while living in
San Francisco and is now establishing relationships locally. In Ann Arbor
she has been working with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Khita is a Certified Rolfer. She has taught anatomy
at San Francisco at San Francisco School of Massage and Body Arts Institute.
She is a frequent guest lecturer at University of Michigan Dance Department.
She has worked with Meredith Monk, Margaret Jenkins Dance Company and
Oakland Ballet.
